What's your oldest device that still gets daily use?

Just cleaned out my parents basement and found my old ipod classic (160gb) from like 2007 or 8? Charged it up and damn thing still works perfectly?? Now im using it in my car instead of my phone lol. Got me thinking - what ancient tech are yall still using daily that refuses to die? Bonus points if its older than tiktok

Currently typing on a dell latitude e6410 from like 2009 lmao. Work issued me a macbook but this thing is my home daily driver still. Upgraded to ssd + 8gb ram few years back when everyone said "just buy a new one bro". This thing been thru 2 kids spilling juice on it, move across country, and dropping it in a home depot parking lot. Still chugging

Yall fancy with ur electronics. My thermos brand lunchbox from 7th grade (1998!) Still goes to work with me everyday. Handle broke once but fixed with duct tape. Wife bought me a new yeti one for christmas ($85!!!) but it sits in the cabinet. Why fix what ain't broke??

rotary phone in my kitchen. dead serious. att guy came to fix internet last month and literally took a picture of it bc he'd "never seen one actually hooked up" lmaooo. perfect for pizza orders and talking to my mom. no spam calls ever cuz robodialers can't handle it apparently

Got a 2004 camry pushing 290k. Check engine light's been on since obama's first term but mechanics keep saying "nah just keep driving it". Burns oil like crazy gotta keep a quart in the trunk. AC only works when it's under 88 degrees outside which defeats the whole purpose but whatever. Ain't no way im making car payments in this economy

Still using my college printer...a hp laserjet 1020 from 2005. Thing is literally too stupid to die. No wifi, no fancy features, just prints in black and white. New toner maybe once every 2-3 years for like $20 on amazon. Meanwhile my parents bought some $400 epson that needs $80 ink refills every other month

Sneck March 31, 2025, 12:46 a.m.

bro my office has that EXACT printer!! IT department keeps trying to replace it but everyone refuses cuz the new ones jam 24/7. old printer on desk = actually works, new printer down hall = always broken

My kitchenaid mixer is literally older than me. Mom got it as wedding gift in 1984, gave it to me when i moved out in 2016. Had to replace the little metal piece that holds the attachments (cost like $6) but otherwise works perfect. Use it 2-3x a week minimum. They seriously built stuff different back then

Got a technics sl-1200 turntable from 1979 still spinning daily. Bought it used in 96 for $175, now they're like $800+ if u can even find one. Replaced the needle twice and cleaned it once.Probably outlast me tbh

90's sony trinitron crt tv in the garage. Use it daily when working out. Perfect for nintendo 64 with zero input lag unlike new tvs. Picture still looks crisp af somehow. Weighs approximately 500lbs so moving it anywhere would require a structural engineer + small crane

Using a mr coffee from the 90s every single morning. Nothing digital, just an on/off switch and heating element. No clock, no programming, no pods, just dump water + grounds and hit switch. Original glass carafe broke in 2011 (rip) but replacement was $3 at goodwill. Keurigs come and go but this thing outlasts em all

Wernon April 10, 2025, 11:21 p.m.

same!!! simplest coffee makers last forever. parents got a fancy delonghi thing with milk frother and touchscreen... broke after 13 months. meanwhile my $20 mr coffee probably run 9000+ times no issues
