Disney+ region problems - what's the best vpn for disney plus that actually works?

Just moved to Malaysia for a 1-yr work contract and discovered my Disney+ subscription is completely useless here! Half the shows I was watching are suddenly "not available in your region" even though I'm paying the SAME PRICE as back home.

Tried contacting support and they gave me some garbage about "regional licensing agreements" and basically told me too bad.

I've seen people mention VPNs can fix this but when I google it's just page after page of obvious paid reviews. Every site claims THEIR recommended VPN is the only one that works πŸ™„

Has anyone actually solved this problem recently? Disney seems to be getting better at blocking VPNs from what I can tell. Just wanna finish Mandalorian season 3 without having to cancel my subscription completely.

PS: Not trying to do anything illegal! Just want to access the content I'm literally already paying for!

disney+ constantly updating their vpn detection. What works today might not next week. trick is finding vpn with regular ip rotation. Currently using Mullvad but telling u the name = disney sees this post = they block it faster 🀫

Malaysian here! Welcome to our internet hell lmao. D+ launched last year but our catalog is trash. If you have family back home get them to download episodes and dropbox them to you. Less headache than vpn dance trust me

Your work computer have vpn back to home office? That's my sneaky solution. company pays for secure connection, i use it after hours for streaming. Don't tell my IT department pls πŸ˜‚

Tried bunch of options last year when traveling, found surfshark somehow flies under radar better than others. Their Malaysia servers garbage but connect to japan server works fine for disney. Remember enable kill switch or you risk account flagging!

They checking payment method country not just ip address now. Workaround: buy disney gift cards from home country, redeem those instead of credit card. Keeps account "home" while you abroad

omg genius hack!! just had my cousin mail me us gift cards and IT WORKED. don't even need vpn anymore, stream works perfectly now. ur a lifesaver!!

D+ technically violates their own TOS by blocking paying customers. Section 6.c literally says "accessible on supported devices"... nowhere specifies regional limitations. Screenshot that policy before they change it and email executive support not regular cs

Did u check if malaysia disney+ has different content you might like? Each region gets exclusive stuff. My canadian account missing half US shows but has stuff americans can't see. Might discover new favorites!

Wasted $80 on expressvpn annual plan that worked exactly 8 days before disney blocked it. Their "money back guarantee" has so many conditions i couldn't even get refund. Now stuck with expensive vpn that only works for basic browsing

Nobody mentioning smart DNS services? Way easier than full vpn for streaming. Just changes how dns lookups resolve without routing all traffic. Unlocator worked when i was in thailand last summer

yall making this so complicated lmao. just use free vpn, make new trial account, binge show in 7 days, cancel, repeat with different email. disney+ literally created this problem themselves 🀷‍♀️

Part of the issue relates to content delivery network configuration rather than actual blocking. Disney+ implements geo-restriction through both IP validation and geographic content filtering techniques to identify unauthorized access attempts

disney+ straight up shadow banned my account after catching me on vpn too many times lol. No error message, just infinite loading screens. Made new account, works fine again. They tracking usage patterns not just connections

Honestly just give up and embrace local content. Started watching malaysian shows when living there and discovered whole new world of entertainment i'd have missed otherwise!

fr!! Polis Evo and The Ghost Bride changed my whole perspective. malaysia got some fire content we never see in west

bull of dark May 24, 2025, 9:24 p.m.

lol all these complicated methods. just type [showname] + episode + free online. boom problem solved. corporate overlords created this mess themselves
