The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G with 200MP camera ranks 74th in the DxOMark ranking - on par with the Xiaomi 12 and Samsung Galaxy S21
The number of megapixels ≠ good photo and video quality. This truth has long been known to all, and the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G has proved it once again.
Here's What We Know
The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G debuted last year in China, and about a fortnight ago it appeared in Europe. The €500 price tag made it the most expensive smartphone in the history of the Redmi Note series, and a nicer feature is the 200MP camera.
Experts from the DxOMark lab tested the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G. Among the drawbacks, they noted the appearance of chromatic aberrations when using the ultra-wide-angle camera, slow autofocus performance in high contrast scenes and low light, and artifacts when shooting indoors.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G's video and photo capabilities were rated at 117 points. The smartphone got 77 points for zoom photography, even though the model doesn't have a telephoto lens. With a total score of 113 points, our hero was placed in 74th position.
OnePlus 8 Pro and Xiaomi 12 also scored 113 points each. Just below that is Samsung's trio of flagships - the Galaxy Flip 4 (112), Galaxy Flip 3 (111) and Galaxy S21 powered by the proprietary Exynos 2100 processor.
On the other hand, of the 73 smartphones that are ranked higher than the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, only two models are cheaper. These are the Nothing Phone (1) and the Google Pixel 6a. And in the $400-600 segment, our hero ranked 7th.
