13 pseudo-hypersonic Kh-47M2, more than 20 ballistic Iskander-M and S-400 - Patriot system demonstrates high efficiency in destroying Russian missiles
The Ukrainian Armed Forces received Patriot air defence systems a few months ago. They make it possible to shoot down the entire range of Russian missiles.
Here's What We Know
A few days ago, one Kh-47M2 pseudo-hypersonic missile was shot down over the Kyiv region. In total, since May 2023, the air defence destroyed 13 such missiles. This was announced the day before by the speaker of the command of the air forces of Ukraine Yuri Ignat.
He said that the Russian defence-industrial complex is capable of producing about a hundred missiles of different types every month. These include pseudo-hypersonic Kh-47M2. At the same time, Yuri Ignat emphasised that the stockpile is not as large as it used to be.
In addition to the Kh-47M2, Ukraine's air defence system is capable of intercepting land-based ballistic missiles. Yuriy Ignat reported the destruction of more than 20 Iskander-M and S-400 missiles.
To intercept such air threats, the Ukrainian Air Force has a Patriot system in service. The US Army recently announced the delivery of five types of anti-missiles, including the PAC-3 MSE. Interestingly, Ukraine has not officially confirmed receipt of the SAMP/T surface-to-air missile system, although the French president announced the deliveries almost two months ago.
