The Colombian Navy wants to acquire South Korean SSM-700K C-Star anti-ship cruise missiles with a launch range of 180 kilometres

The Colombian government has received a request from the country's Navy to purchase a new batch of South Korean-made SSM-700K C-Star anti-ship cruise missiles.

Here's What We Know

The Colombian Navy previously ordered 16 anti-ship missiles and received four more with the Almirante Tono ship. The purchase of the SSM-700K C-Star is due to the fact that the service spent 25 per cent of the missiles - 4 out of 20 - during five years of military exercises.

The Colombian Navy uses the SSM-700K C-Star at the Block I Series 2 level. This version has a launch range of up to 180 kilometres and a maximum speed of just over 1,000 km/h. The FS-1500 light frigates are armed with anti-ship missiles.
