The Red Arrow-12 is an analogue of the American FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank missile system. It was developed by China North Industries Corporation and is a third-generation weapon system.

The complex is equipped with a thermal imager and operates on the "shoot and forget" principle. The missile has a diameter of 135 mm, which is about 20 mm larger compared to the Javelin. It is equipped with a warhead weighing 8.4kg.

The reusable launcher weighs 17kg and has a 1.25 metre long launch tube. It has an effective range of 75 to 4,000 metres. The missile system costs approximately $18,000 and it costs $7,000 to produce the missile.
