British Storm Shadow missiles hit $300m Russian submarine and destroyed a large landing ship in Crimea - Sky News
Sky News has reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have used Storm Shadow cruise missiles to attack a shipyard in Crimea. The British channel cites Ukrainian and Western sources.
Here's What We Know
On the night of September 13, Russian authorities reported that a bay in Sevastopol was attacked by 10 cruise missiles, 7 of which were allegedly intercepted by air defences. As a result of the strike, the submarine Rostov-on-Don and the large landing ship Minsk were damaged.
Hours later, the Ukrainian Air Force hinted that the shipyard had been attacked by aircraft. Judging by the published photos, the ship "Minsk" was destroyed. At the same time, we haven't seen pictures of the submarine yet.
As for Storm Shadow missiles, Ukraine could get an export version with a launch range of about 250 kilometres. This is enough to strike targets in temporarily occupied Crimea. Ukraine's Storm Shadow carriers are Su-24M frontline bombers.
