Ukraine's air defence overnight shot down 17 strategic cruise missiles Kh-101, Kh-55, Kh-555 and 18 kamikaze attack drones Shahed-131/136

On the night of September 18, 2023, the Russian Federation launched a massive strike on Ukrainian territory. Kamikaze drones and strategic cruise missiles were used for shelling.

Here's What We Know

Shahed-131 and Shahed-136 kamikaze drones were launched from two directions towards Odessa and Mykolaiv regions. Ukraine's defence forces were able to intercept 18 of the 24 drones.

The launches of strategic cruise missiles Kh-101, Kh-55 and Kh-555 were made from the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation. Tu-90MS strategic bombers were used for this purpose. Air defence destroyed all 17 missiles within Khmelnytskyy, Poltava and Dnipro regions.
