All US agencies have agreed to supply Ukraine with ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles for HIMARS with a launch range of up to 300 kilometres
Ukraine is close to receiving ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles. It is possible that the deliveries will be officially announced tomorrow, 21 September.
Here's What We Know
All US agencies involved in coordinating the deliveries have approved the transfer of ATACMS ballistic missiles to Ukraine. This is reported by the publication Foreign Policy, referring to its source in the US Congress.
The final decision will be made by US President Joe Biden. On 21 September, the White House head meets Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Washington. It is expected that after the meeting a new military aid package will be announced.
Ukraine has been pushing for ATACMS deliveries for more than a year, since receiving the HIMARS missile systems. The ballistic missiles will allow it to strike 300 kilometres deep into Russian-occupied territories.
