The Russians have begun using small arms to intercept Storm Shadow cruise missiles and GMLRS precision guided missiles

The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation made a very strange statement the previous day. The daily report stated that servicemen had begun using small arms to intercept cruise missiles and guided rockets.

Here's What We Know

The statement was published on 20 September 2023 on the official pages of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation in social networks. The text states that with the help of air defence, electronic warfare and small arms it was possible to shoot down four Storm Shadow cruise missiles and five rockets launched from HIMARS and Smerch multiple launch rocket systems.

And while the Russian defence establishment is telling non-fictional stories that cannot be silenced, the Ukrainian Defence Forces are using Storm Shadow (or SCALP EG) cruise missiles to strike Crimea. In particular, they managed to destroy the facility of the 744th Communication Centre of the Black Sea Fleet Command.

We wrote about the strike the day before, and today it became known what exactly was the target. A satellite photo was also published, which shows significant damage to one of the buildings. Locals also wrote about explosions in the area of Belbek airfield near Sevastopol, but there are no confirmations yet.
