The US has approved the repair and recertification of PAC-3 missile interceptors for Kuwait's Patriot air defence systems

The US State Department has approved a contract to repair and recertify Patriot Advanced Capability 3 (PAC-3) missile interceptors for Kuwait. This will extend the service life by several decades.

Here's What We Know

Kuwaiti authorities have requested replacement of end-of-life components and certification testing. This will maintain the operational life of the PAC-3 missile interceptors for Patriot air defence systems for 30 years.

In a statement, the Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) said the potential deal would further foreign policy and national security objectives. The agreement, approved by the U.S. State Department, will be reviewed by the U.S. Congress. The value is estimated at $150 million.
