Samsung Galaxy Fold 5 - Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a new and improved hinge and an under-screen selfie camera priced from $1800
Samsung has announced a flagship smartphone Galaxy Fold 5. The novelty in many ways resembles the last generation model, but has a few innovations.

Samsung Galaxy Fold 5 received a display Foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X with a frame rate of 120 Hz and support for HDR10 +. The screen is 7.6" diagonal and has a resolution of 1812 x 2176 pixels. A 4 MP selfie camera is installed under the bezel.
At the back, there is another screen in the smartphone. It has a diagonal of 6.2", a resolution of 904 x 2316 pixels and a frame rate of 120 Hz. A small hole is provided for the 10 MP selfie camera. The Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+.
One of the features of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 5 is a new hinge. Now the two halves of the screen better fit together. If desired, the user can fix the display at any angle. In the folded state, the thickness is 13.4 mm, and in the unfolded state - 6.1 mm. Compared to the Galaxy Fold 4, these figures have decreased by 2.4 mm and 0.2 mm respectively.
The resolution of the main camera is 50 MP + 12 MP + 12 MP. The main module and the telephoto lens have an optical stabilisation system. The zoom ratio is 3x. There is support for 8K at 24 FPS and 4K at 60 FPS.
The hardware platform of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 5 is built around the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. The battery capacity was 4400 mA*h. The smartphone got support for wired and wireless charging with 25W and 15W respectively. The flagship also has stereo speakers, NFC, Samsung DeX, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth smart stylus, Armor Aluminum frame and IPX8 water protection.
Price & When We Can Expect It
The Samsung Galaxy Fold 5 is available in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB inbuilt storage variants priced at $1800, $1920 and $2160 respectively. The two higher-end versions are now available at a discount in the US. Deliveries will start on 11 August 2023.
