SpaceX completes static firing tests of Super Heavy rocket booster with record number of Raptor engines
SpaceX continues to prepare for the launch of the Starship spacecraft, which may take place next month, although it is unlikely.

Here's What We Know

Static firing tests took place in Texas, where SpaceX has a spaceport. It was the largest test so far of elements of a spacecraft that will fly to the moon and Mars in the future.

SpaceX tested a Super Heavy first-stage prototype called Booster 7. It is equipped with 14 Raptor engines. Almost two months ago, Elon Musk's company tested seven engines, which were able to run for 10 seconds. The final version of the rocket booster will be equipped with 33 Raptor engines.

Starship will be used in the Artemis III mission, which will land astronauts on the moon for the first time in more than 50 years. SpaceX will also launch satellites and large observatories like James Webb.
