Hubble has captured a photograph of a distant galaxy in the constellation Pegasus that managed to survive an unimaginably powerful stellar explosion

NASA has revealed an image of a galaxy that experienced a supernova outbreak. The photo was taken by the Hubble space telescope.

Here's What We Know

The photographed object is a spiral galaxy, much like the Milky Way. It is called UGC 11860 and is located in the constellation Pegasus at a distance of 184 million light years from our planet. The photo clearly shows the arms stretching from the centre of the galaxy.

Space Agency NASA reports that recently UGC 11860 was able to survive an unimaginably powerful stellar explosion. The supernova outbreak was able to be traced thanks to the remnants of gas and dust that were ejected in the explosion. Judging by the way the galaxy looks in the image, it is now in a relatively stable state.

It's worth noting that NASA published an image of UGC 11860 nine years after the data was obtained. Hubble observed the spiral galaxy in the constellation Pegasus back in 2014 using an instrument called Wide Field Camera 3.
