Amazon will send the first Project Kuiper internet satellites into space tomorrow to compete with SpaceX Starlink

Amazon is ready to send the first internet satellites into space. The company will launch two vehicles as part of Project Kuiper.

Amazon intends to carry out the Protoflight mission as early as tomorrow, 6 October. The company intends to put into orbit Internet satellites KuiperSat-1 and KuiperSat-2. These are prototypes of future spacecraft. They are designed to collect data that will help in the development of the project.

Project Kuiper will become a competitor to the Starlink service. SpaceX has put almost 5,000 satellites into orbit and will increase the constellation six times in the future. Amazon intends to send 3,200 vehicles into space within six years.

The Protoflight mission will launch on October 6 at 14:00 (EDT) or 11:00 (PDT). The Atlas V rocket will deliver the KuiperSat-1 and KuiperSat-2 satellites to an orbit 500 kilometres high.
