On 8 April, the first total solar eclipse took place across the United States, from Texas to Maine.
Here's What We Know
The eclipse began in Mexico at 14:07 EST and spread across the US. NASA broadcast live footage of this natural phenomenon.
Witnesses from Mexico, Arkansas, Texas, Illinois and Ohio have already shared their impressions of the eclipse. The event also covered the northeastern part of the country, passing through Pennsylvania, New York and New England.
An eclipse is a unique opportunity to observe the solar atmosphere and study natural phenomena. The last such spectacle took place in 2017, and the next one is not expected until 2044.
