Going to Mars? Musk plans to send 1 million people to the Red Planet in the coming years

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has repeatedly announced ambitious plans to colonise Mars.

At a special event held on 6 April at Starbase in Texas, the billionaire shared his vision for the future of all mankind.

Here's What We Know

According to Musk, our civilisation can only last a few hundred years and only colonisation of other planets, and later galaxies, will be able to save it from destruction.

Musk believes that in the next 20 years SpaceX will be able to deliver with the help of a giant shuttle Starship 3 to the Red Planet 1 million first colonists and the same number of tonnes of cargo.

In his opinion, this number of people will be enough to establish the first Martian city and further development of Mars.

The SpaceX founder plans that spacecraft will be sent to Mars every two years, which will provide colonisers with a stable supply of resources, new "Martians" and a hypothetical opportunity for those wishing to return to Earth. Although he emphasises that this expedition should be seen as a "single ticket" and not count on Starship 3 as a taxi to bring back.

Fortunately or unfortunately, but Musk did not specify what threats are facing earthlings and what event, in his opinion, will occur in the near future, which will lead to the death of the planet. And there are still too many questions about the realisation of his plan....
