US officially approves delivery of first M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine
The US Department of Defence has announced the approval of deliveries of the first batch of M1 Abrams to Ukraine. The tanks will soon be shipped to Europe.

Doug Bush, the US Army's chief of acquisition, said that the M1 Abrams are ready for shipment. The tanks will be delivered to Europe, after which they will be placed at the disposal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Together with the combat vehicles, Ukraine will receive fuel, equipment, spare parts and ammunition.
In total, the USA plans to transfer 31 M1 Abrams main battle tanks to the Ukrainian military. The deliveries were announced in early 2023. The tankers are now undergoing training on the territory of Germany. The tanks are expected to be delivered to Ukraine in September.
