Ukrainian Armed Forces seize Russia's most advanced T-90M "Breakthrough" tank worth up to $4.5 million

A new Russian tank may appear in service with the Ukrainian Defence Forces. And we are talking about the most modern combat vehicle, the T-90M "Breakthrough".

Here's What We Know

Modernised Russian tank was captured by the Ukrainian military in the Zaporizhzhya region. This was reported by Yuri Mysyagin Ukrainian volunteer and people's Deputy. The condition of the combat vehicle is not specified. Perhaps the tank will need repairs.

The T-90M "Breakthrough" is equipped with a 1,130 horsepower engine and can reach speeds of up to 70 km/h on the motorway or 50 km/h on rough terrain. The maximum range is about 550 kilometres.

The tank is armed with a 125/48 calibre smoothbore gun with a range of more than 3 km. The anti-tank guided missiles can hit targets within a radius of 5 km. Additionally, the T-90M is equipped with 7.62 mm and 12.7 mm machine guns.

The capture of the first modern Russian tank became known in September 2022. Then the Ukrainian tanker said that the T-90M "Breakthrough" is a slightly improved version of the T-72B3 with good dynamic defence.
