Norway is going to send Ukraine a new batch of weapons.

The information appeared on the country's government website. The new aid package will include 50 American tracked transporters M548 (Norwegian name NM199). The Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to use them to transport ammunition and equipment at the front. The transporters are now undergoing maintenance. Before that they were in storage.

Flashback

The M548 is an American cargo tracked transporter. It was developed in the 60's for the military based on the undercarriage of the M113 armoured personnel carrier. It is used for transporting cargo in terrain inaccessible for wheeled vehicles. The M548 is in service with more than 15 countries around the world, including the United States, Canada, Australia, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Chile.
