Canada may transfer an additional batch of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine in a $483m military aid package
Canada is preparing a new military aid package for Ukraine. This is reported by local TV channel CTV News.
Here's What We Know
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Canada on September 22. It is expected that during his visit will be announced a new package of military aid, as well as additional sanctions against russia.
According to CTV News, the new military aid package will be worth CA$650 million (~$483 million). It will include German Leopard 2 main battle tanks, but the number is not specified at this time.
Earlier this year, Canada announced the delivery of four Leopard 2A4 tanks. Later, the North American country decided to double their number. In mid-April, all eight tanks were shipped to Poland for training delivery to Ukraine.
