The Lucid Air electric car has dropped in price by $28,400 in its top-of-the-line version - two versions already cost less than $100,000
Lucid Motors has lowered the price of the Lucid Air electric car in all variants. Two versions of the car cost less than $100,000, and another configuration will soon join them.
Here's What We Know
Lucid Motors is trying to claw back price increases related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The most expensive configuration of the electric car is called the Lucid Air Grand Touring. It has dropped in price by more than $28,000 and now costs $125,600 instead of $154,000.
The middle version is called Lucid Air Touring and the base version is called Lucid Air Pure. They have dropped in price from $107,400 to $95,000 and from $87,400 to $82,400 respectively. As early as September, Lucid Motor will sell a rear-wheel drive version of the Pure. The price will drop from $82,900 to $77,400.
Officially, the manufacturer does not comment on the reasons for the reduction in the cost of electric cars. The new prices will be in effect until stocks are depleted. The company is also working on a $249,000 Lucid Air Sapphire Edition.
