Google Maps introduces Glanceable Directions: Step-by-step navigation without unlocking the screen
The company is introducing a new time-saving feature in its Google Maps app called Glanceable Directions. This feature allows users to get turn-by-turn directions and estimated arrival times without unlocking the screen. After a year of waiting, Glanceable Directions is now available on all iOS and Android devices.
Here's What's New About It
This new feature is designed to make navigation easier and reduce phone interaction while driving. It allows you to automatically update the route if the user deviates from the planned path, regardless of whether you are travelling on foot, by car or by bike.
Google Maps is rolling out glanceable directions for Android and iOS users.

Google continues to increase the functionality of its app and adds artificial intelligence to improve navigation. Recently, a generative AI feature for Google Maps was introduced, and in February 2023, Immersive View was introduced, which creates AI-based three-dimensional cities for in-app exploration.
