Telegram has a new update: group topics, collectible public names, and video message decoding
Telegram developers have announced a new version of the branded messenger.
Here's What We Know
The application came out with the number 9.1.0 and contains many small but useful innovations. For example, to make it more convenient to monitor the flow of information in conversations, the administrators of groups with 200 or more participants can now organize discussions on topics. The new feature allows you to create separate chats within the main group. Notifications can be set up separately for each such topic.
The new version of Telegram introduces collection public names. They look and work exactly the same as the usual user names of the @username type. Collectible public names are displayed in global search results and can be used outside of Telegram as username.t.me and t.me/username links.
Telegram has also added a video message decryption function. It is available to Premium subscribers and can quickly translate speech from videos into text.
In addition, Telegram has improved the night theme on iOS, text size settings on Android, added new emoji and visual improvements to the app.
When We Can Expect It
The new version of the app is already available on all platforms.
