Eagle One is a dual boom octocopter for intercepting drones
AUDROS. the European Space Agency has developed a new system for intercepting unmanned aircraft.
What we know
The system consists of a charging base and a drone Eagle One that is equipped with two booms and can intercept up to two drones in a single flight. The UAV was developed by the Czech company Fly4Future and the charging station was created by Polish experts from Dronehub.
When an unwanted drone is detected, the Eagle One will rise into the air, hover and engage a boom from which rugged cables descend. The cables entangle the propellers of the drone, it remains hanging on them and does not fall to the ground.
Eagle One has already been successfully tested in Czech prisons, as drones are often used to transmit contraband to prisoners. The AUDROS project is working on the new system GINA Software and BizGarden.
