AeroDrone in Ukraine starts mass production of E-300 Enterprise and D-80 Discovery drones with a range of up to 3,100 km and costing up to $450,000
The Ukrainian company AeroDrone has started serial production of two unmanned aerial vehicles. The announcement was made by Dmytro Shimkiv, one of the startup's co-owners.
Here's What We Know
AeroDrone was able to pass certification and sign a contract with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence. The agreement allowed the company to launch serial production of drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The manufacturer could not disclose the number of drones. Once the drones come off the assembly line, they will have to undergo tests, after which the ministry will decide whether to accept the drones into service.
AeroDrone is producing two drones. The D-80 Discovery can carry up to 80kg of payload. The E-300 Enterprise model is capable of lifting up to 300kg. In the event of an emergency, a parachute system is activated, allowing the UAV to slowly descend to the ground.
The maximum flight range of the drone is 3100 km. This is enough to fly twice to Moscow from Kiev (~750 km one way). But in this case, the payload will have to be sacrificed. The maximum capacity of the additional fuel tank, which provides 3100 km of flight, is 350 litres.
AeroDrone is in talks with a foreign company about starting production lines in Poland. Depending on its modifications, the drone could cost between $250,000 and $450,000.
