Bayraktar Akinci destroys target at 140km with TRG-230-IHA supersonic missile for the first time

Turkey's Baykar has conducted its second test of the Bayraktar Akinci unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with the TRG-230-IHA missile. The first test took place at the end of 2022.

Here's What We Know

Roketsan, the manufacturer of the TRG-230-IHA missile, officially announced on December 16, 2022 that the Bayraktar Akinci drone Bayraktar Akinci tested the TRG-230-IHA supersonic missile with a range of up to 150 km. The drone itself was at an altitude of 7.6 km.

More than three months later, the second test took place. This time, the drone was able to destroy a target that was in the Black Sea at a distance of 140 km. The Bayraktar Akinci took off from the airfield at the Flight Training and Test Centre. The missile was launched as the drone approached Sinop province.

The TRG-230-IHA is a supersonic air-to-ground missile. Its maximum launch range is 150km, which means Akinci came close to its limit during the test.
