Baykar has handed over Bayraktar TB2 drones to the Kosovo Security Forces. The drones were ordered late last year and deliveries took just over six months.
Here's What We Know
Kosovo wanted to buy Turkish drones in early 2022. Interest in drones increased after February 24, when the Russian federation launched a large-scale war against Ukraine.
Kosovo received five Bayraktar TB2 drones, a control room and additional equipment amid the Defender Europe 23 exercise, which ends on June 23. The drones were handed over in April.
The cost of the agreement was not specified. To understand the prices, Romania ordered three Bayraktar TB2 drones at a cost of $321 million each. Poland, meanwhile, paid $67 million for one complex of six drones.
