Germany to transfer 80 Danish RQ-35 Heidrun drones to Ukraine for low-altitude reconnaissance and target acquisition
Germany today updated its list of military aid for Ukraine. As it turned out, Leopard 1A5 tanks have already been delivered. On the website of the German government there was information about preparations for the delivery of RQ-35 Heidrun drones.
Here's What We Know
The RQ-35 Heidrun is an unmanned aerial vehicle developed by Sky-Watch from Denmark. The drone has a fixed wing and will be used for low-altitude reconnaissance and searching for enemy targets. It has a range of up to 30 kilometres and can reach speeds of 60 km/h.
According to the manufacturer, the RQ-35 Heidrun is capable of flying in areas where the enemy uses electronic warfare and there is no satellite communication. The drone has a flight time of 100 minutes to 150 minutes and takes up to 5 minutes to deploy.
Germany will transfer 80 RQ-35 Heidrun drones to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The terms of drone deliveries are not specified on the German government's website.
