Here's What We Know
Rheinmetall is selling the HERO family of barrage munitions in Europe, which it developed together with Israeli company UVision. The amount of the deal is not specified, but it is known to be worth hundreds of millions of euros. Deliveries will begin in 2024 and will be completed in 2025.
The models of the ordered kamikaze drones have not been specified yet either. The company has several drones in its range, which differ in size, flight duration and the weight of the warhead.
UVision recently announced the start of development of the HERO-900 and HERO-1250 drones. The first one can destroy targets at a distance of up to 150 kilometres and is equipped with a 30 kg warhead. The second has a launch range of more than 200 kilometres and a warhead weight of 50 kg.
In addition, the company has developed less powerful kamikaze drones HERO-90, HERO-120 and HERO-400. They are used to eliminate manpower, armoured targets and fortifications.
