The Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive German modern reconnaissance drones Luna NG.

The UAVs will be handed over by the company Rheinmetall. They were bought for Ukraine by the German government. Deliveries of drones should begin at the end of this year. It is not yet known how many UAVs the AFU will receive.

Luna NG (NG stands for Next Generation) is designed to identify targets and deliver means of defeat to them. The complex includes a military truck, a ground control station and a catapult to launch the UAV. Luna NG can stay in the air for more than 12 hours. In addition, it can intercept and jam communications, as well as transmit information over a distance of more than 100 kilometres. The maximum flight altitude of the UAV is 5 kilometres. The drone is powered by a low-noise two-stroke engine. Luna NG has a modular design.
