German prosecutors have arrested a German businessman on suspicion of supplying $775,000 worth of spare parts and electronic components for Russian Orlan-10 drones

German investigators accuse businessman Waldemar W. of being able to organise the supply of components for Russian drones. The German Federal Prosecutor's Office has issued an arrest warrant for the businessman.

The suspect is accused of selling spare parts and electronic components for Russian Orlan-10 reconnaissance-class drones to Russia between 2020 and March 2023. Waldemar W. has already been taken into custody. A criminal case with 26 episodes has been opened against him.
The German prosecutor's office regards the supply of components for the drones as a violation of the Foreign Trade Act and the sanctions regime. The Karlsruhe resident sold the parts via third countries, including Lithuania and the UAE. The value of the supplied components is estimated at €715,000 ($775,000).
