Kamikaze drones have attacked one of Russia's largest factories producing microelectronics for Pantsir-S1 air defence systems and Iskander missiles, in which tens of millions of dollars have been invested

The enterprise is located in the city of Bryansk. The strike was officially confirmed by the governor. He stated that one of the industrial facilities of the city was attacked. Later, Russian media reported that it was about the plant "Silicon El".

It is located just over 100 kilometres from the border with Ukraine. The enterprise has already been hit in late summer 2023. "Silicon El" is one of the largest Russian manufacturers of microelectronics. It produces microchips for Pantsir-S1 air defence systems and Iskander missiles

A fire broke out in one of the administrative buildings after the strike. No damage to production facilities was reported. Earlier, Russian authorities invested several tens of millions of dollars in the plant. In 2019, the company announced the production of microchips using 500 nm technology and plans to master the 350 nm process.
