Kamikaze drones have again hit one of Russia's largest microelectronics factories, which produces components for Iskander missiles and Pantsir-S1 air defence systems

Silicon El is one of the largest microelectronics plants in russia. It's been attacked by drones for two days in a row.

Here's What We Know

The Russian company manufactures components for Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and cannon systems and Iskander missiles. Since 2010, over $5 million has been invested annually in the plant for several years.

The day before, Silicon El was attacked by kamikaze drones. Authorities in Bryansk officially confirmed the attack on the industrial facility in the city. The plant is located about 100 kilometres from the border of the Bryansk region with Ukraine.

The new attack didn't have to wait long. On the evening of 8 September 2023, Russian media again wrote that kamikaze drones had attacked a factory in Bryansk. The governor reported that the UAV was suppressed by means of electronic warfare, but hit the administrative building. A fire started on the 5th floor.

Later the governor wrote about two kamikaze drones. According to him, the second UAV was destroyed on the approach to the city.
