On the night of October 4, 2023, the S-400 Triumf air defence system was hit. The strike was carried out by Ukrainian kamikaze drones.
Here's What We Know
Drones of the Security Service of Ukraine hit an anti-aircraft missile system right on the territory of the Russian Federation. An air defence system located in the Belgorod region came under attack.
Local residents have published several videos in which dozens of explosions can be heard at the location of the launchers and the Podlyot radar station. The cost of the air defence system is estimated at $1.2 billion.
This is the second such incident in less than a month. About three weeks ago, the Security Service together with the Ukrainian Navy destroyed the S-400 Triumf in Crimea. However, at that time, along with kamikaze drones, two modified Neptun anti-ship missiles with a range of up to 280 kilometres and a warhead weighing 350kg were used.
