The Israeli army wants 200 secret Switchblade 600 kamikaze drones manufactured by US company AeroVironment. The request is under review. At the moment, it is unclear when the US Department of Defence will make a decision.

The Switchblade 600 is a relatively classified development unlike the Switchblade 300. The kamikaze drone is equipped with a large warhead that allows it to destroy enemy armoured vehicles, including tanks. The Switchblade 600 has a flight time of 40 minutes. The barrage munition can reach speeds of up to 185 kilometres per hour during an attack.

Recently Charlie Dean, vice president of AeroVironment said that the company will increase the supply of Switchblade 600 to Ukraine. In addition, the US Army has ordered more than 100 UAVs. The cost of one kamikaze drone is estimated at $80,000-176,000.
