Qualcomm will release an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 with record-breaking CPU clock speeds
The American company Qualcomm may present two versions of the mobile processor Snapdragon 8 Gen2. One of them will receive a CPU with a record frequency.
Here's What We Know
Unlike previous generations, this time Qualcomm will show two flagship chips at once. The modified version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 will get a CPU with a maximum clock frequency of 3.4-3.5 GHz. Now the record is 3.2 GHz in Snapdragon 8+ Gen1.
There is no information about the clock speeds of the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen2 single-chip system yet. But it is assumed that the new generation chip will be 100-200 MHz slower than the accelerated version. Thus, there is a chance that the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen2 will be slightly faster than the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1.
The presentation of the new generation mobile processors will traditionally take place at the end of the year at the Snapdragon Tech Summit. If Qualcomm will show two versions of the SoC at once, the future of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen2 chip will be in question.
