Insider: Redmi Note 12 will be one of the first to get the new MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor

According to Chinese insider Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is going to install a new MediaTek chip in the Redmi Note 12 smartphone.

Here's What We Know

We are talking about the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC, which debuted a few hours ago. The processor is the successor to the Dimensity 920 and a competitor to the Snapdragon 778G. The chip is built on a 6-nanometer process. It has two 2.6GHz Cortex-A78 cores, six 2GHz ARM-Cortex A55 cores and support for cameras up to 200MP.

Unfortunately, other details about the Redmi Note 12 insider did not disclose, but if we believe the rumors, the smartphone will also get an ultra-wide-angle camera at 50 MP and OLED-display. The release of the new product should take place in the next few months.
