Xiaomi will give up one of its revenue streams and completely remove ads from MIUI 14
Users of Xiaomi smartphones can begin to rejoice. The company will abandon advertising in the new version of the software.
Here's What We Know
A few years ago, Xiaomi claimed that the revenue it was getting from advertising in MIUI was one of the reasons it was keeping the cost of its smartphones relatively low, while competitors' models kept getting more expensive. But few users were reassured by such arguments.
There are many instructions on thematic forums on how to disable ads in MIUI, but very soon they can be removed. According to Chinese online informants, MIUI 14 will have no ads.
The firmware will debut along with the Xiaomi 13 family of smartphones. The presentation will take place in late November or early December, but in China. The global version of MIUI 14 will appear in early 2023.
