Don't expect any more cheap iPhones: Apple is abandoning the iPhone SE
Apple typically updates its most affordable smartphones in the iPhone SE series every two years. Since the last iPhone SE was introduced in 2022, the next model was expected in 2024. However, it looks like there won't be one, nor will there be any other iPhone SE smartphones.

Judging by a new report from respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone SE experiment is over. According to him, Apple has instructed its supply chain partners that plans to produce and ship the 2024 iPhone SE have been canceled, not just postponed.
Oddly enough, there is someone in this situation who stands to gain - Qualcomm. The fact is that Apple was going to move to main band chips made in-house. First they were supposed to be tested on the iPhone SE, and then already, if everything goes without problems, to add them to the iPhone 16. But now the chances that Qualcomm will remain the exclusive modem supplier for the iPhone 16 are greatly increasing.
