First details: foldable smartphone Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 may get a new 4-nm processor and a slot for the S Pen
While Samsung is actively preparing for Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra flagships will be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked presentation on February 1, insiders are already publishing details about the next foldable smartphone Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Here's What We Know
So, according to the leak, the foldable smartphone will be equipped with a 4nm Qualcomm chip called Snapdragon 985 5G. However, this is not the official name - most likely it hides the test version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
The report also says that the dimensions of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will change: the thickness of the body will increase from 6.3 mm to 6.5 mm, weight - from 263 grams to 275 grams. While there are no confirmed reasons for this, we can assume that either upgraded cameras or increased battery capacity have affected the weight. An earlier report said that the 10-megapixel front camera would be replaced by a 12 MP camera. Samsung only updated the main camera and telephoto lens last year, so we doubt the Fold 5 will get new rear sensors.
And the increase in body thickness may be due to the addition of a slot for the S Pen stylus. By the way, Fold 4 supports work with electronic pen, but it does not have a separate slot.
