Mark Gurman: Apple is not working on a new version of the HomePod Mini
Last week Apple Apple introduced the second generation HomePod with improved sound, S7 chip, new features and a $299 price . After that, it was reported online that the company might be working on a new version of the HomePod Mini. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

According to insider and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, Apple has no plans to update the HomePod Mini smart speaker yet. Gurman told this in a new weekly Power On newsletter. The fact is that the new version of HomePod has the same features as the original HomePod Mini model. Accordingly, it makes no sense to update the current model yet.

HomePod Mini is Apple's compact smart speaker. It was introduced in 2020 along with the iPhone 12 lineup. The device runs the Apple S5 chip and boasts 360-degree sound. The gadget has four microphones and supports the Siri voice assistant. The speaker is powered from the network. By the way, one of these days Apple will release an update for the device, which will activate the temperature and humidity sensors.
