Qualcomm announces event on 17 March: awaiting release of new Snapdragon 7-series chip

Qualcomm has unexpectedly announced a presentation to be held in China on 17 March.

If rumors are to be believed, the event will showcase the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 successor. The novelty will be called Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1 or Snapdragon 7 Gen 2.

The SoC will be built on TSMC's 4 nanometre process. It comes with the model number Snapdragon SM7475. The chipset will get one high-performance Cortex-X2 core with a maximum clock speed of 2.92GHz. It will also be equipped with three 2.5GHz Cortex-A710 cores and four 1.8GHz Cortex-A510 cores. The novelty should come with Adreno 725 graphics.
