Insider: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 gets new core layout, Adreno 750 graphics and will not support 32-bit apps

Data miner and insider @Za_Raczke has shared details of Qualcomm's new top-of-the-line processor.

Here's What We Know

We're talking about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The novelty goes under the codename Lanai or Pineapple, and with the model number SM8650. The new SoC will boast of an updated 2+3+2+1 core layout:

  • 2 Arm cores codenamed Hayes (A5xx)
  • 3 Arm core codenamed Hunter (A7xx)
  • 2 Arm Cores code-named Hunter (A7xx)
  • 1 Arm core codenamed Hunter ELP (Xn)

According to the informant, the processor will not support 32-bit applications. It will also get Adreno 750 graphics and will be compatible with Android 14 (Linux Kernel 6.1) smartphones.

Qualcomm plans to manufacture the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 using TSMC's 4nm processor or Samsung's 3nm processor.
