The Ukrainian Armed Forces showed a rare anti-aircraft missile and cannon system "Tunguska"
The Tunguska anti-aircraft missile and cannon system was seen on the battlefront. It is very rarely seen on video.
What we know
The anti-aircraft self-propelled launcher was developed in the 1970s century due to the lack of effectiveness of the Shilka complex. It entered service with the army of the Soviet Union in 1982.
Today, in addition to Ukraine and Russia, the Tunguska SAM system operators include India, Belarus, Yemen, Myanmar, Syria and Morocco. According to open sources, as of 2021, Ukraine had 75 self-propelled units of 2K22M modification.
"Tunguska" is equipped with anti-aircraft guns with a projectile velocity of 960 m/s and a rate of up to 5,000 rounds per minute. The range is up to 4 km (up to 3 km altitude). The SAM can also use missiles with a velocity of 600 m/s to destroy targets. The launch range is 2.5 km to 8 km (up to 3.5 km in altitude).
