Ukrainian soldier shows in action captured modern flame-thrower "Shmel-M" (video)
The Ukrainian Defense Forces seized a Russian PDM-A "Schmel-M" rocket flamethrower and used it against the Russians themselves.
What is known
The reactive infantry flamethrower is distinguished by its increased range and power. It was developed about 20 years ago. "Bumblebee-M" weighs almost 9 kg. The length is 940 mm. The weapon is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 1.7 km.

At first glance it may appear that the projectile fell a few meters away from the soldiers. In fact, it is a special part that is responsible for increasing the range.
The solid propellant engine, with which the missile is equipped, is attached to the ammunition and burns up as it travels down the barrel. The thermobaric round burns without detonation, and its power is equivalent to that of a 152 mm high-explosive fragmentation projectile.
