Ukraine has received another batch of Gepard self-propelled air defense systems.
What we know
We are talking about four systems. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany. Now the AFU has 12 such units. And that is not all. Germany is planning to transfer another 18 units. By the way, apart from the four Gepard, Ukraine has also received 49,000 rounds of ammunition, ten highly mobile multi-purpose wheeled vehicles, three armored recovery vehicles, eight anti-drone devices, eight mobile ground radars and thermal imagers and a couple of refrigerators for storing medicines.
Recall, Gepard is the anti-aircraft self-propelled unit designed to cover ground troops, destroying air targets at slant ranges from 100 m to 4 km and at altitudes up to 3 km, flying at speeds up to 350-400 m/s, as well as ground and surface targets at ranges up to 4500 meters. By the way, Gepard is built on the chassis of the tank Leopard. The unit is been manufactured by Krauss-Maffei since the mid-70s.
