Germany transferred to Ukraine 3 more Gepard self-propelled air defense systems and 11 M113 tracked armored personnel carriers
The German authorities have announced that they have transferred new military aid to Ukraine.
What we know
We are talking about three additional anti-aircraft self-propelled Gepard units. Now there are 15 of them in Ukraine, but there will be more - 18. Gepard is designed to cover the ground troops, destroying the air targets at slanting ranges from 100 m to 4 km and at altitudes up to 3 km, flying at speeds up to 350-400 m/s, as well as ground and surface targets at ranges up to 4500 meters. The MPS is built on the chassis of the Leopard MBT. It is produced by the Krauss-Maffei company.
In addition to the Gepard, Germany also transferred 11 tracked armored personnel carriers M113 to Ukraine. Earlier, Germany sent us 33 such armored personnel carriers.
Let us recall that M113 is in service with mechanized troops of the US Army and other armies of the world. It was developed in 1957-1959 by the British company BAE Systems. There are about 80,000 of such vehicles in the world.
