Artillerymen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine use Excalibur high-precision shells even with conventional 155-mm M777 howitzers. This is confirmed by one of the latest videos from the front.

Here's What We Know

Recently, a video appeared online that shows the M777A2 artillery unit with the Towed Artillery Digitalization fire control system. But in the new video, the Ukrainian military fires Excalibur shells from a regular M777 without additional digital modules.

Before firing, the howitzer's barrel is directed almost vertically in order to bring the projectile to its maximum altitude. The DA45 marking indicates that this is an Excalibur. This can be seen on the video, where the programming is performed by a remote control unit.

The Excalibur high-accuracy projectiles have a range of about 40 km and can hit targets with an accuracy of 2 meters. According to recent data, the Armed Forces of Ukraine received 900 units of M982 Excalibur for $92 million.
