The Ukrainian Armed Forces defeated an elite tank brigade during a counterattack, which was created for the war against the NATO army

The 1st Guards Tank Brigade of Russia was created in case of a clash with the NATO army, but could not go further than the Kharkiv region.

Here's What We Know

A British Ministry of Defense military intelligence report dated September 13, 2022 says that the elite Russian Federation unit was destroyed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces during a counterattack in the Kharkiv region. And this is not the first defeat of the tank brigade.

According to the UK government, the Ukrainian Defense Forces were able to inflict serious damage on the Russians in the first weeks of the full-scale invasion. Until the moment of the counterattack in the Kharkiv region, the Russians were unable to fully resolve their losses. Back in the spring, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported that the 1st Guards Tank Brigade had lost more than 300 pieces of equipment and about 400 servicemen.

British Military Intelligence emphasizes in its latest report that it may take several years for the Russian Federation to restore this capability.
